1. Appointments – (Information Only – No Action Required)
a. Ms. Erica Schwartz to the position of Assistant Volleyball Coach at Watertown High School for the 2006-2007 school year at a contractual stipend of $1,625.00 payable at the end of the season
2. Transfers – (Information Only – No Action Required)
a. Ms. Diana Debiase from grade 6 teacher at Heminway Park School to Special Education permanent teacher at Judson School effective November 2, 2006.
b. Mr. Tobie Nelson from temporary custodian, 2nd shift, at John Trumbull Primary School, to permanent custodian, 3rd shift, (Auditorium/Band Room) at Watertown High School effective October 11, 2006.
c. Ms. Marisa Sinopoli from Special Ed Paraprofessional at Judson School to Special Education Paraprofessional, Early Learning Skills, Category #2 at Polk School, effective November 13, 2006, for 30.0 hours paid per week at an hourly rate of $14.86.
3. Resignations – (Information Only – No Action Required)
a. Ms. Wendy Hulme from the position of Special Education teacher at Judson School effective November 2, 2006 for personal reasons.
4. District Achieves Adequate Yearly Progress for 2005-2006
The Connecticut State Department of Education recently released (embargoed until Friday, October 27, 2006) the Watertown School District Adequate Yearly Progress Status for the 2005-06 school year. The district as a whole achieved Adequate Yearly Progress.
5. Board of Education Meeting Dates 2007 – First Reading
The 2007 schedule of meeting dates for the Watertown Board of Education is presented this evening for the first reading. (See Attachment A.)
6. Board of Education Workshop
The Connecticut Association of Boards of Education will provide a workshop to all Board members on the Roles and Responsibilities of Board Members on Monday, December 4, 2006 at the John Trumbull Primary School library. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a working dinner and end at 8:30 p.m.
7. Preliminary School Calendar 2007-2008 (Information Only – No Action Required)
Preliminary information will be shared with the Board of Education this evening to prepare the Board for its December 1st first reading on the 2007-2008 school calendar.
8. Board of Education Budget Calendar Dates
The following dates have been scheduled for the budget workshops:

a. Consideration of the Approval of Mr. Kevin Killeen to Fill Vacant Position
It is recommended that the Board of Education approve of Mr. Kevin Killeen to fill the vacant position left from the resignation of Mr. James Marks.
A representative from the Town Clerk’s office is present this evening for the swearing in of Mr. Killeen.
